Our Motorcycles: Why We Ride the Honda XR150L

When it comes to choosing the right motorcycle for our guided tours, we look for one thing above all else: the perfect balance of reliability, comfort, and suitability for the local terrain. That is exactly why we ride the Honda XR150L.

Honda has a long standing reputation for dependability, and here in the Philippines, that really matters. With hundreds of dealerships and service centers scattered across the country, support is always close by, making the brand an easy choice for touring in a place as vast and varied as Mindanao.

Now, the XR150L is not the most powerful bike on the market, but that is part of its charm. It is lightweight, agile, and incredibly easy to ride, ideal for both experienced riders and those newer to long distance travel. Comfort is also a big win. Speaking from experience, I can hop off after 6 or 7 hours in the saddle and still feel fresh, which makes all the difference on a multi day adventure.

One thing our guests love is how versatile the XR150L is for different rider sizes. I am around 184 cm and feel perfectly at home on it, while my partner at 165 cm finds it equally comfortable and confidence inspiring.

As for the roads, most of our routes feature good concrete surfaces, with some areas being upgraded to bitumen. They tend to be beautifully winding and scenic, but because of the curves, the average speed is usually under 60 kph. The XR150L handles these conditions effortlessly, making it an enjoyable and trustworthy companion for exploring the Philippines.
