Mindanao Motorcycle Tours – Adventure with Authenticity
Welcome to Mindanao Motorcycle Tours, where the thrill of the ride meets the heart of the Philippines.
Join us on a 7-day guided motorcycle journey that’s designed for riders who want more than just the road. This is an experience of landscapes, culture, and exploration.
Itinerary for the trip
Friday.
The guided journey begins the at the airport soon after you land in Manila. We will meet you at the terminal and escort you to the Savoy hotel where you will be spending your first night. The area around the hotel has a number of great restaurants from which to choose dinner.
Saturday.
It's up early the next morning to catch a domestic flight to Dipolog City, Mindanao where we will be met by a chartered air-conditioned van to take us to Liloy and the start of the tour. Following lunch and a safety briefing we will load up the bikes and hit the road. The first leg of the tour is designed to get you familiar with both the bike and conditions. The quiet road follows the picturesque coast to a small fishing town called Labason. From there where head inland through a mountain range down through to some rice fields onto Ipil city where we will stop for a break. From there where make out way to our first overnight stay at a place called Buug. The hotel is located directly across from the local markets where we will sample some local cuisine for dinner.
Sunday.
This road takes us high into the mountains and even more amazing views. This is the type of road you would want to ride a on a sport bike if the road conditions where better. It has endless great corners that you can take at good safe speed and really enjoy. it eventually leads us to the coast and the road to Cagayan De Oro where we will spend the night.
Monday.
The next day is a light travel day so there's time to get some laundry done and visit the pistol club directly across the road and squeeze off a few rounds while we wait. We then hit the road and head in to the high country of Bukidnon province and the town of Valencia. The road to here has some of the most spectacular mountain and valley views of the tour. Lots of picture stops on this section of the tour. The accommodation here is resort style with a nice bar and great swimming pools.
Tuesday.
The photo opportunities are still plentiful the next day as we wind our way down through the locally famous Davao riders club section of road to the coast north of Davao City and our next stop Tagum. This a very nice resort located right on the beach with large cabin style accommodation furnished with king size beds and all the comforts you would want.
Wednesday.
This next day is quite a long one so after a reasonably early start (8am after breakfast) we head north through yet more mountains and numerous small villages. Few people travel here so you can expect quite a bit of attention when we stop for a break. We again work our way down to the coast and some of the most amazing coastline views you will likely see anywhere. From here it's on to Bislig, a small fishing village and our next night stay. This place has a small market that sells fresh fish and vegetables and there is a guy who will cook it for you, weather and conditions permitting.
Thursday.
Another coast to high mountain journey today. Our destination Claveria. The only word I can think of to describe this part of the country is stunning. The mountains peaks are in the clouds which of course means it is cold. Very unexpected in the Philippines. Evident by the pine trees that grow there and the numerous vendors selling fresh cut roses! Much of the road here is sealed and a joy to ride. Accommodation for the night is a comfortable mountain resort with views from your room.
Friday.
The journey through this gorgeous part of the country continues the next day. There is a small must stop on our way down the mountain at a place for an early lunch and the most delicious natural cocoa hot chocolate I have ever had, very memorable. From here we again ride the coast road to our next night stay in Tangub via the longest bridge in Philippines at just over 4kms.
Saturday.
The final day of the tour starts with a visit to the Belvedere view deck on the top of Mt. Mandalang. It is a very lavish building complex from which to enjoy the endless view. if it is a clear day. From there more great mountain roads ending up back on the East coast at Sindangan and Liloy where your journey around Mindanao began. We end the tour here with a great dinner and a few drinks where we will talk about the highlights of the trip. The accommodation in Liloy is very comfortable and is right next door to where we began.
Sunday.
You can take your time on this day because your flight from will very likely be in the afternoon so no need to hurry. The chartered van will take to the airport at Dipolog to catch your flight to Manila. From there you can simply jump on the free bus to take you terminal 1 (International terminal) where you wait for your flight home.
